Tulsi Gabbard Demands Apology from Clinton for "Russian Asset" Comment
Tulsi Gabbard is at it again - this time demanding that Hillary Clinton formally retract her statement last month allegedly accusing her of being a "Russian asset". Claiming that the comment is "defamatory" in nature, Gabbard's lawyers have sent Clinton a letter ordering her to apologize for her remarks. Neither Clinton nor her lawyers have responded yet.
I should also point out that, when Clinton made those "Russian asset" remarks, she never mentioned Tulsi by name, and yet Tulsi immediately assumed Clinton was talking about her.
Kinda telling, don't ya think?
I've been more than critical of Tulsi Gabbard in the past, mainly because of her non-interventionism and her well-documented history of being an apologist for repressive leaders (and dictators) like Bashar al-Assad, Vladimir Putin, and Narendra Modi (the latter of which she has personally met).
Not to mention the fact that Tulsi's campaign has garnered the support of not just the Russian government but also neo-Nazis and white nationalists like former Klan boss David Duke, who openly endorsed Gabbard for president.
To me, Tulsi Gabbard is perfectly indicative of a growing extremist wing in the Democratic Party; a dangerous movement that has shown a tendency towards non-interventionism and isolationism. These ideologies not only serve to favor Putin in his quest for power, but they also fly in the face of liberalism's core values - values that include humanitarianism, global cooperation, and democracy.
